PANAJI (GOA): The Bharatiya Janata Party, Goa, will be organising the month-long ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi Abhiyan’ (attainment to resolve) from August 9 onwards, with different programmes at booth, mandal and district level as per the directions of party president Amit Shah. The programmes were finalised at a meeting of the state office bearers, committee members, mandal president and general secretaries, held in Panaji today.
The programme is being launched by the party as per the call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the completion of 75 years of ‘Quit India Movement’ which was also known as ‘August Kranti Movement’ (Bharat Chhodo) launched on August 8, 1942.
Under this campaign, every Indian including political parties, local self-governments, socio-cultural institutions, educational institutions and various organisations should take some kind of resolve to attain ‘New India – Attainment through Resolve’ in 2022, when India will complete 75 years of Independence.
South Goa MP, Narendra Sawaikare, explained to the members present at the meeting about the programmes to be undertaken from August 9 to August 30 as ‘New India – Attainment through Resolve’.
The meeting which was presided over by party president Vinay Tendulkar, resolved to organise the following programmes at mandal / booth level.
9th August – A mashal rally to be taken out and garlanding statues of freedom fighters and shaheed martyrs.
10th August to 14th August – Tiranga yatra at important places with garlanding or felicitation of freedom fighters, Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan in the vicinity of statues of all great men and freedom fighters.
14th August – A patriotic singing competition with screening of films on Mahatma Gandhi, Veer Savarkar, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
15th August – Flag hoisting programme at all levels after Prime Minister’s address on Red Fort and each one present should take one resolve on this occasion – Dirtiness – Quit India, Corruption – Quit India, Terrorism – Quit India, Castism – Quit India, Communalism – Quit India. Inspire citizens to take pledge on probity in their personal life.
16th August to 30th August – Symposium on ‘New India – Manthan’ and Quit India – Quiz for youth at District level.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in his concluding remarks spoke about the importance of organising the ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi Abhiyan’ in order to revive the spirit of Nationalism which led to the Independence of India in 1947.
