Panaji (Goa) The South Goa District Administration has ordered verification of the antecedents of the person, whom a house or property is rented or leased out.

The South Goa District Magistrate Anjali Sehravat in an order issued today has asked the landloards to provide the details of the tenants to police for verification.  

“The owners/management of all hotels, lodging and Boarding, Private Guest houses, paying guest accommodation, temporary residential accommodation of all religious bodies are directed to prohibit any visitors/guests to check in without providing any photo identity proof as specified,” the order stated.

Collector has directed the landlords not to let/sublet/rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants/person to whom the accommodation is provided to the police incharge of the concerned area. 

“The incharge of such accommodation shall provide such facility for inspection of the record to the police authorities any other authority authorised by the District Magistrate,” it added.
