Panaji (Goa) Savera NGO’s Chief Tara Kerkar today claimed that the lady who had alleged that she was sexually harassed by social activist Aires Rodrigues had threatened to commit suicide, if she was not given justice.

Kerkar today addressed a press conference to clarify her stand on the issue and rubbish allegations by Rodrigues in which he had said that “Vasco-based NGO was hired by Vijai Sardesai to target him.”

“Aires has not named me or my NGO but he has said that Vasco based NGO has been hired. We have taken up this case as a social cause. I am not hired by Vijai Sardesai as claimed by Aires. We came in the picture as the lady had given us written letter on November 26 seeking justice,” she said talking to mediaperson at Azad Maidan.

Kerkar said that the lady had threatened to commit suicide along with her children, if she is not given justice.

“We are with the victim as we want to give her a justice. She has been harassed by Aires,” she said.
