Panaji (Goa) Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai has called back his trusted lieutanants Durgadas Kamat and Dilip Prabhudesai in the party fold as the party gears up major expansion in the state.
Goa Forward party’s meeting held in Margao yesterday decided to recall Kamat from his post as officer on special duty to State fisheries minister Vinod Palyekar and Dilip Prabhudesai as OSD to Sardesai with the aim to give them major positions in the party organization.
Kamat has been considered as a brain behind several pro-people initiatives taken by Palyekar, who has been working closely with the fishermen. The recent stand of Palyekar on Mhadei water dispute has also been appreciated by the people.
Few media reports had suggested that Kamat was moved out after demands by the people from Siolim, but the party leaders have ruled it out, claiming that the reshuffle was aiming at strengthening the party.
On the other hand, Prabhudesai has been a part of Goa Forward Party’s think-tank which has been designing various policies and programmes for the party. His return to the organization is also being considered as a boost to the party which has been expanding its base in many constituencies.
