Panaji (Goa) The Mapusa police have booked a 29-year-old woman living in Mapusa town for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy, who was staying at her place.
The woman, whose identity has been kept confidential, is booked under stringent section 4 and 12 of POSCO Act and section 8 of Goa Children’s Act by Maupsa police following the complaint by boy’s parents.
“As per the complaint, the woman sexually assaulted a minor boy who is 17 years old, between June 7 to September 11, 2017,” Mapusa police inspector Tushar Lotlikar said.
The boy who had run away from his house at Ponda was living with the woman, who is a divorcee with three children, police said.
The complaint against her was filed after the boy who went back to his house started abnormal behaviour and was referred to state-run Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB).
Police said that, during the counselling, the boy confessed to sexual assault on him by the accused.
“We have summoned the woman at the police station tomorrow following which we will decide the future course of action,” police said.
