Valpoi (Goa) The continuing rains in the coastal state has revived the White Water Rafting adventure in River Mhadei , a senior tourism department official has said.
The white water rafting which is an annual activity hosted by Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) had to be stopped due to dry patch of the rains witnessed in the State. Goa is now witnessing incessant rain since last two days increasing the water levels in the Rivers.
GTDC has said that the white water rafting will commence in Mhadei river basin from September 21 onwards.
“The rainfall has revived during last 48 hours and there is rise in the Mhadei river water. The water level is now conducive for rafting activities at least for next ten days or until Dussehra holiday,” the GTDC has said in a press note released here.
GTDC has said that it is expecting huge influx of tourists in the State for Navaratri and Dussehra celebrations followed by long and extended weekend until October 2.
“The rafting activity had taken a break due to change in weather conditions and drop in water levels in River Mhadei,” the GTDC has said
