The Kendriya Sahitya Akademi has announced to honour renowned Goan writer and poet Paresh Kamat with Kendriya Sahitya Akademi award for his collection of Konkani poems titled ‘Chitralipi’ which was published in 2013.

A pharmacist by profession, Kamat has also been awarded earlier by the Konkani Bhasha Mandal twice in 2001 and 2005. He is also the recipient of state Kala Academy’s Sahitya Puraskar in 2009 and Goa government’s Yuva Srujan Puraskar in 2011-12.

Kamat’s poems have also been translated in various other languages.
