Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai is through to the Women’s singles semifinals at the All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2018 at Bangalore, Karnataka.

Anura registered a commanding 21-15, 21-6 win over Manisha Rani Tirkey (Jharkhand) in the quarterfinals.

Earlier, she defeated Vaidehi Choudhari (Maharashtra) 21-19, 12-21, 21-15 in the round of 16. Anura will be up against another top India player Aakarshi Kashyap for a place in the finals.

Goa’s Pranjal Prabhu Chimulkar partnering Ramya Tulasi B. V. (TN) played a fantastic match to upset number one seeds Ashna Roy / Harika V. 18-21, 21-14, 21-16 to reach the quarters. In the quarters, they went down fighting 21-16, 19-21, 21-14 to Ningshi Block Hazarika / Shruti Mundada.
