Panaji (Goa) Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who is contesting on BJP ticket from Panaji constituency was one amongst the first few voters. This is what he told media after emerging from the voting:
“There will be heavy voting and from our side voting will be very good. From my side we will get 98 per cent of the voters out. I don’t see any opposition. Election is just to confirm my return back to Goa.. I will get substantial lead. Earlier when there was general elections, I used to campaign aggressively across Goa, this time I was campaigning between 5 – 10 pm.
I have done so many things for the constituency and we need to do so many more things.
I fight all the elections seriously. That gives me opportunity to reach to the people. You cannot take people for granted.
