GOVT GIVES FINAL WARNING TO AGITATING PARA TEACHERS

Panaji (Goa) The State government today made it clear that the contracts of para teachers, who are currently agitating over regularization of their service, will stand withdrawn from, if they fail to join the duty by Saturday.

Government has assured that the para teachers will be regularized in their service from the next academic year 2018-19.

“All those para teachers who are joining on or before 25.11.2017 will continue to remain in the service on contract as per their offer letter. Those who have not joined by25.11.2017, the offer of contract appointment stands withdrawn,” project director for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, NG Honnekeri, said in an order issued today.

He said that the Para teachers who have joined their duties on or before November 25, will be allowed to register online portal under NIOS bridge course of 6 months, who are possessing B.Ed degree, as the last date to register the Bridge course in the National portal is 30.11.2017.

Several para teachers have been protesting since Thursday demanding that their service be regularized. Today morning, the teachers were forced to leave the protest site- entry point of Secretariat, Porvorim- after North District Collector imposed section 144 of CrPC.
