Panaji (Goa) Goa Government today reconstituted its 16-member legal team to defend State’s interest before the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal (MWDT), which will be hearing final arguments in the Mhadei river water diversion issue from February 6.
The team is headed by Senior counsel Atmaram Nadkarni, who is also the Additional Solicitor General of India.
The other members include Advocate General Dattaprasad Lawande, Adv Pratap Venugopal, Adv Salvador Santosh Rebello, Adv Mayuri Chawla, Adv Amogh Prabhudessai, Adv Nikita Nadkarni, Adv Rajesh Shivolkar, Adv Gautam Sharma, Adv Ashvek Gosavi, Adv Ashish Kuncolienkar, Adv Akshaya Joglekar, Adv Aurobindo Gomes Pereira, Adv Amir Jamadar, Adv Shaish Mahambre and Adv Nikhil Pai.
“The aforesaid team, comprising of learned Senior Advocate, Ld. Advocate General, Advocate on record and thirteen Advocates will be the main Mahadayi Team which will decide, co-ordinate appearances, pleadings, evidence and the entire trial before the Tribunal,” the order issued by Under Secretary Law Anju Kerkar, stated.
