GOVT TO SET UP URBAN ARTS COMMISSION TO PRESERVE ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

The Conservation Committee of Goa Town and Country Planning Board have decided to form ‘Urban Arts Commission’, which will advise the state government and the local bodies on the preservation of architectural heritage in the state.

The Board met under the chairmanship of minister Vijai Sardesai on Friday and decided to form the commission.

 “The future buildings in the state must follow the “law of aesthetics”, TCP minister Vijai Sardesai told reporters.

Sardesai also said that the commission will advise the Town and Country Planning department about different ideas through the board’s conservation committee.

The members of the commission will have statutory powers, who will also be a member of the board.
