Goa Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Mauvin Godinho informed State Legislative Assembly on Friday that the government was trying hard to ensure that Goa Meat Complex starts functioning as early as possible.
Speaking during Zero Hour in the assembly, he said after acquiring all statutory permissions from all the authorities, meat traders in the state would be allowed to transport animals to provide hygienic meat at the meat complex.
He alleged that there was propaganda being run against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in the state creating impression that the government was against meat eaters which was not true.
Godinho further said that there were some Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) which had created problems for meat traders in the state last year which led to the closure of the complex.
