GTDC’s MONSOON TREKKING EXPEDITION HEADS TO MAINAPI WATERFALLS ON AUGUST 19

GTDC takes you to Mainapi which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Netravali. Mainapi waterfall is around 14km from Netravali village and is in its full glory in this monsoon season which goes on to stay alive until the end of February.

When most waterfalls of the Western Ghats reduce to a trickle during the peak of summer, the perennial gushing waters of the Mainapi waterfall present a spectacular scene. Trekking to the bottom of this waterfall is breathtaking and adventurous. This area comes under the jurisdiction of Netravali wildlife sanctuary.

Trek will be satisfying with guaranteed thrills and comprises of steep climb and descent for around 100 metres of moderate levels. 

Transport arrangements have been made from Mapusa Residency at 7:30 a.m, from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, Panjim at 8.15 a.m and Margao at 9 a.m.

85.1 km from Panaji – 2hrs 1mins
71.6 km from Dabolim Airport – 1hr 36mins
43.9 km from Margao Railway Station – 1hr 1mins
35.2 km from Canacona Railway Station – 1hr 0mins

Registration fee is Rs. 800 (food inclusive). Vegetarian lunch will be provided.

Interested trekkers are requested to carry along an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, snacks and binoculars. Only fit individuals should join the trek. Smoking and consumption of alcohol will not be permitted.
