My Masterpiece is a film that will throw a twist just when you think that you have figured it all out. The film starts with Arturo (Guillermo Francella) who narrates events which took place with him and his friend Renzo Nervi (Luis Brandoni) in the last 5 years.
Arturo is an art dealer and an art gallery owner who tries all that he could to help his friend Renzo Nervi who is a socially awkward painter and who leaves a very unorganized life without having a consideration for anyone and even for his friend, Arturo, who wants to help him. However, one day Renzo gets drunk and meets with an accident and is admitted to a hospital where he asks his friend Arturo to help him end his life. Well, as an audience one may think that the plot will now take us to something that we have seen many times in movies like ‘Guzaarish’ but this isn’t really that kind of movie and the humour that it contains is far from over.
On the acting front, Andrés Dupra and Gastón Duprat are outstanding. The music timing of the film is also really good. Director Gastón Duprat is successful in making a film with a perfect mixture of Art, comedy, black comedy and a little bit of drama. It is safe to conclude that ‘My Masterpiece’ is an entertaining film and a good movie to watch with your buddies.
