The owners and management of all the hotels, lodging and private guest houses including residential accommodation of religious bodies have been directed by the South Goa district magistrate to prohibit any guest from checking in without providing any photo ID proof such as Adhaar card, voters ID or driving license.

The district magistrate has further ordered that no owner of any house/property within the jurisdiction of South Goa will rent out premises or accommodation to any person unless he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants to the local police.
