When and how did you begin modelling? Were you studying or working before then?
After completing my MBA, I worked for almost 4 years. I also worked with big MNC’s and since past 2 years, I was working as a banker in Dubai. In 2017, I started modelling and won the title of Mr. Delhi 2017.
Why modeling when you could have settled in for a more stable permanent career?
I’m a 29 year old Lad who just returned from Dubai after almost two years of working as a banker to turn his passion of modelling and acting into a full time profession and walk a new journey of exploring myself and my true potential. I regard myself to be a complete entertainer; stepping into the world of showcasing one’s talent, as I enjoy being the center of attraction.
Tell me about your first assignment. If any, how did it happen? What was the experience like (make this answer as personal as possible)
After winning the title of Mr. Delhi 2017, I got an opportunity to walk on the ramp in Hungary (Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India) as a model. After that, I did a video song with Gauhar Khan And B-Praak. I have been invited by well-renowned colleges as a jury member to judge their Entertainment Shows. Throughout, the experience has always been amazing.
What do you feel makes you a good model? Your face? Your body? Your attitude? As opposed to others?
Well, I believe, to be a good model requires confidence and good attitude.
Why Rubaru Mr. India, when there are so many local pageants that happen?
I was not a model and neither I was an actor when I won the title of Mr. Delhi by G-town society. At that time, only few people knew about that company. Although, I think if that company can give me such platform, definitely Rubaru is very well known platform than that and it is a fact that everybody knows about Rubaru. It’s a bigger platform to perform and I have seen Rubaru contestants have been doing well. Also, Rubaru gives a chance to represent oneself and one’s country too on an international platform.
Did Mr. India just happen to you along the way – or were you preparing to take part in the pageant?
Well, it’s a long story and it has been more than a year that I was preparing for Mr. India. Earlier when the audition was about to happen, unfortunately though, I met with an accident and my ribs got fractured. So that year, I was not able to take part in Mr. India. However, without loosing hope, I went for Mr. Delhi and won it. Now, I am very glad to have a chance to be a part of Mr. India so I’m working very hard to get the best of this opportunity.
Tell us about how you train for it. What is the regimen like? What are the challenges involved?
Winning Mr. India title is not an easy task and I’m working hard to get this title. I’m working on my physique as well as on my knowledge and skills. In every situation, challenges are involved, but I believe in hard work more because this is the only way to succeed.
What makes you feel you should be the chosen one? What’s different about you as a contestant?
Mr. India contest is not about being good looking and having a fair skin; though all these things I do have. However, to me, it is more about having a fit body, about determination, confidence, performance and talent. I think, my dedication, potential, body features, face definitions and many other qualities will help me to go a long way. I have always believed in myself and in future too will never fake anything. I’ll give my best. Never to judge a person on the basis of their looks and skin color is my message to everyone in this industry.
How will winning Mr. India pageant will be going to affect your life?
If I win Mr. India 2018, my expectations from myself would be ameliorated. Also, it will surely boast my morale. Although I have always believed that I’m capable of more than I think I can; my standards for aiming bigger will be inches higher after that glorious day.
What are your views and thoughts for cause camping of save girl child, how you will educate to stop this in our country?
In villages, people feel that daughters are ‘’Paraya dhan” and that they would go away after marriage and also are not considered on par with sons. Unfortunately, women have weak position in the society. For some families, educating girls seems expensive. As a result, this poor mindset prevents girls from getting a quality education. Sometimes girls are faced with a poor and hostile school environment including conflicts and social exclusion.
It is glimpse of hope that our Government has launched The‘ Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ scheme, which seeks to address gender imbalance and discrimination against the girl child. It was launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Panipat in Haryana. Although, the implementation has still a long way to go.
So, according to me, we can best stop this at our level through educating girls for a better future. It can be brought about by political leadership and empowerment of women, making every girl’s education affordable, supporting policies that work in favor of women and comfortable school environment and facilities. Education matters and quality education is birth right of any gender living in this society. I think while I say this even various charities, religious faculties and other voluntary organizations would participate with me on the note that, educating girls will promote more of women leaders to emerge and ultimately would compel society to change the mindset of the people to Value and Save a girl child.
