IPB WITHDRAWS PERMISSIONS GRANTED TO 13 PROJECTS IN CRZ

Panaji (Goa)  In a major setback to 13 investment project proponents, the Investment Promotion Board (IPB) chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today withdrew the in-principle approvals granted to their projects in Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) areas.

Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) ambitious ropeway project from Panjim- Regis Magos, marina project proposed at Sancoale in Mormugao by M/s Yacht Heaven Pvt Ltd, Mini India Park proposed at Quelossim, Floating jetty in River Mandovi and nine five-star resort are the project whose permissions are withdrawn.

The Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce will now re-examine these proposals and place it before State Government for decision.

  “Board decided that the section 8 of the Goa Investment Promotion Act 2014 does not empower the Board to grant permissions in CRZ areas,” sources said.
