Indian Premier League(IPL) is all about T20 cricket, thrilling contests, emerging stars, champions, etc and this is going on since last 11 years.
IPL 11 which started in the first week of April is now in the final week of the season and with qualifier 1 it is now cleared that team in yellow Chennai Super Kings will be playing their 7th IPL final.
Till date, CSK has played 6 IPL finals and managed to win it twice way back in 2010 and 2011 after which they qualified for finals in 2012,2013 and 2015 but failed to clinch the title. However, CSK qualified into final for the first time in the opening season of IPL in 2008 where Dhoni and boys had to face Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals who emerged as champions in the very first season.
The team in yellow Chennai Super Kings was out of IPL for 2 seasons and they have played 9 seasons so far making it into the finals 7 times.
This excellent side failed only twice to qualify for final in 2009 and 2014 becoming the only side till date to be in last 4 every year. Absolutely no doubt that MS Dhoni is leading the side in very effective manner but over the years even after a change in the squad, CSK never lost their consistency.
During qualifier 1 of IPL 11,It was hard to believe that CSK will cross the winning line against Sunrisers Hydrabad as wickets were falling one after another keeping the required run rate high against the excellent bowling line up but opener FAF Du Plesis had some other plans in the mind who played well throughout the innings to take his side into the final of IPL for 7th time and with this its now going to be interesting to find out who will face them in big final at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai on 27th May and whether they will be able to clinch the title for 3rd time
