Panaji (Goa): With the onset of monsoon, it is the time for the anglers to try to their luck in the backwaters.
Today being Sunday, the scores of youngsters were seen trying their luck in fishing in different parts of the state. Laying bait, they wait patiently for hours to get the right amount of catch.
The continuing rain in the State has proved as a boon to these amateur fishermen. While voters were busy in panchayat elections, these youths were found along the backwaters.
“I have voted and ran here. Fishing is my hobby. It’s right time to catch the fish now,” Armando Fernandes from St Cruz told TNV.
Though the fish catch will not make up for the lunch, there is a competition amongst youths. Who catches the most is revered as an expert.
