The Jan Aushadhi Kendra, under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Yojana (PMBJAY)- a scheme launched in 2008, was inaugurated at the hands of Shreepal Samdariya, Maharashtra, and Goa State In-charge Officer, Bureau of Pharma PSU’s of India, under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India at Aquem, Margao.
The South Goa district got its first generic medicine store on Thursday with a view to promoting affordable and effective generic drugs.
Mohan Dhuri, incharge of the store, said the medicines at the Jan Aushadhi store were priced less than 70 to 80 percent compared to normal medicines found at retail stores.
