TNV: Tell us something about yourself.

DJ: My name is Diana Mathews Jackson. I’m a fashion model and an aspiring actor. I’m also an abstract painter and currently pursuing a crash course to enhance my skills in art. Coming to academics, I wasn’t a bright student, a very poor performer rather mostly in all subjects which let me lose interest in any 9-5 career. So I did home-schooling as any below-average student just to manage by. I’m not all ashamed to say that I went through a very difficult phase in my life which has made me this self-proclaimed successful person, in my own terms, defying the gravity of constant contemplation of ”self-worth & purpose in life”. I’ve been winning this battle with personal struggles of depression almost every day. In my belief, if a person cracks the code to win from self-doubts and questioning their unhinged aptitude then they’ve attained the highest level of success to aspire and inspire even others as well during that journey. Tomorrow, If I’ll be left with hope size of a mustard seed, I’ll choose to stick to it till the end.

TNV: What inclined you towards modelling? Are you looking forward to it as a full-time profession?

DJ: Modelling always has been just more than physical perfection (facial features, height, weight & goddess genes) to me. If you know how to master your imperfection and let the world appreciate you for whatever you are, that’s how I define in my words. For me, it’s the only way to cope up with all mental/ emotional struggle & pain that I’ve been through in life. I love the way it brutally challenges me to be nothing but be strong and always acknowledge and focus only on the positivity under any circumstances as we all know, there’s absolutely no space for any weakness when you aim to be the best version of yourself. I’ve pursued and dedicated myself to modelling ever since I started as my fulltime profession and not relying on just passion or a lil recognition. It’s a ”serious business” to me.

TNV: What was your reaction when you came to know that you were selected for Stellar Mr & Ms Goa 2020?

DJ: It’s a dream to all aspiring models to get recognised with their uniqueness. I’ve been endeavouring to get a major breakthrough prior to this. So, I’m so utterly thankful to the entire entourage of Miss & Mr Stellar for this as finally, I’m getting this opportunity.

TNV: Have you participated in pageants before this?

DJ: Yes, I’ve. Out of 6 I’ve been crowned 4 times:

  • Miss Summer Tulip India 2015
  • Miss Perfect Model 2019 2nd Runner up
  • Fashion Model Goa 2019 Winner
  • Miss International Goa 2019 1st Runner up

TNV: How important winning this pageant is for you?

DJ: It won’t be true if I say that this platform means only for me to gain experience and not win but it’s not just only about winning either but to look beyond the next morning after winning! To continue and flourishing at the soaring ascent of fashion/modelling and maybe acting soon till my last breath. And while doing all this I’d love to inspire just not girls but boys and possibly kids and yes women of all ages who once thought of modelling but sacrificed them in a deep dungeon because somebody told them that ”they just Can’t!”

TNV: Are you feeling any pressure?

DJ: Pressure doesn’t signify anything in particular, but yes maybe a quarter but more than that I’m feeling thankful and excited because it’s an opportunity for me to get even more close to what I love and wanted to add another synonym to who am I

TNV: Your biggest support in life?

DJ: Undoubtedly, the love of God and my family! Without these two parts of my life, it’s just impossible for me to even breath for a second! We take many things, family and friends (our true well-wishers ) for granted but only the absence of them realises that how much we need them to grow and become better with each passing day, becoming helpful, generous and humble to the other people around us.

TNV: Any quote or saying that has a profound impact on you?

DJ: There’s indeed a lot of them, some of them are very close to my heart and I recall them whenever I get into rock bottom kind of situation just like everybody. But one quote in specific is just like a magic spell for me, ”Feel the fear and do it anyway”, It has left a very deep rooted meaning in my heart! I define and use it at many aspects of life, like when I’m scared, hurt, confused and especially doubt my potential and viola it bestows me with the instant boost to get a head start no matter what, Don’t stop!

TNV: Any message for your friends and well-wishers?

DJ: Yes, of course. Please do keep supporting every individual. we all have come a long way filled with dreams ambitions twinkling in our eyes like stars, to bring the glory of evolution irrespective of professionally or personally whatever we are, and it won’t be possible to accomplish alone, we need your love & encouragement more than ever.
