PUNE: Officials of the Yerwada police station nabbed a youth who was allegedly carrying a revolver and six cartridges worth Rs 21200 in Yerwada on Tuesday evening.
The arrested accused has been identified as Karan Sawant (22) a resident of camp.
According to information given by police inspector Ashok Kadam of Yerwada police station, officials of Yerwada police were patrolling near Reddy hotel in Sadalbaba Chowk when they spotted Sawant with the revolver, after which, a team led by police sub inspector Anil Lohar nabbed the accused.
“We have booked the accused under Arms Act. The accused told that he bought the weapon from a person named Patil,” said sub inspector Lohar.
Yerwada police is further investigating the case.
