MAH: FOUR YOUNGSTERS ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY

PUNE: Officials of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station arrested two youths and detained two minors, involved in robbing people on a highway near Katraj.
The arrested accused have been identified as Omkar Sawant (19) of Ambegaon Pathar and Pratik Salvi (19) of Katrajgaon.
According to Senior Police Inspector, Vijaysinh Gaikwad, Changdev Nanavare (58) was robbed by some youths on June 22 in Katraj. The suspects were carrying iron rods and threatened Nanavare and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash. A team of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station was formed by Police Inspector Rajkumar Waghchavre.
“Policemen Pradip Gurav and Vinod Bhandalkar received a tip-off that the youths involved in the robbery were near Wonder City in Katraj. Accordingly, a trap was laid and the accused were nabbed,” officials of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station said.
Police Sub-Inspector Shivdas Gaikwad said that the two minors are students of a college near Katraj and the other two accused are school dropouts. “We are checking if the accused are involved in other highway robberies,” added Shivdas Gaikwad.
The police team also included policemen Ganesh Sutar, Shridhar Patil, Samir Bagasiraj and Baba Narle.
