PUNE: An Ola cab driver was robbed of cash and his car by three unidentified persons who had booked the car in the early hours of Friday near ISKCON temple In Kondhwa.
According to information given by officials of Kondhwa police, a case of robbery has been registered against three youths who are between 20-25 years of age.
The incident occurred at around 12.30 am. The victim, Santosh Bhosale (36), a resident of Garade village in Purandar taluka has lodged an offence in this case at the Kondhwa police station.
Assistant police inspector Vishal Valvi who is investigating the case said that the robbers took the car and Rs 700 from Bhosale.“We found the robbed car abandoned in Bopdev Ghat area. Investigation is on for identifying the robbers,” said Vishal Valvi.
Police said that following a call from Kondhwa area, Bhosale went to the spot for picking up passengers around 12.30 am. Three persons who claimed to have called the Ola company for booking the cab sat into the car, but later, all of a sudden the trio attacked Bhosale. Then showing threats to Bhosale, the trio allegedly robbed his cash of Rs 700 and also took away the car.
