PUNE: A 40-year-old woman who had lodged a complaint of rape against National Youth Congress leader, Rohit Tilak, has now alleged that she was threatened by two unidentified persons of acid attack if she does not take her complaint back.
The incident took place on Monday morning after which the complainant approached Vishrambaug police station and lodged a complaint against the two unidentified persons. Rohit Tilak has received ad interim anticipatory bail till July 28 in the case.
In her complaint, the woman said that she was in a car with a friend when two persons on a motorcycle stopped near their car. “The pillion rider was carrying a bottle containing yellow colour liquid. The pillion rider warned me of consequences if I do not take back the complaint against Tilak.” the complaint stated.
Following the incident, advocate Tosif Shaikh who is representing the complainant has written a letter to commissioner of city police Rashmi Shukla to provide police protection to the woman complainant till the charge sheet is filed in the rape case against Rohit Tilak.
Vishrambaug police has accepted the complaint of acid attack threat against the complainant and is investigating the case.
