MAH: THREE NABBED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIRE ARMS

PUNE: Sleuths from the Anti Dacoity Cell (ADC) of Pune police have nabbed three persons for illegally possessing five pistols and 16 cartridges. The said persons were arrested at the Sangamwadi bus stand on July 15, Saturday.
Police identified the arrested persons as Nitin Sudhakar Avchite (30) of Talegaon, who currently resides in Yerwada, Mayur Ramdas Sutar (29) of Vadgaon and Sagar Baban Gole of Navi Mumbai.
According to police, Sutar is a criminal on police records with eight cases registered against him for offences like robbery, murder and attempt to murder. Avchite is also a history-sheeter with four cases which includes murder and theft.
Police officials said that they nabbed Avchite and Sutar from the Sangamwadi bus stand.
Later, Avchite took them to Gole, who was nabbed in Maval taluka, from whom cops recovered three pistols and three cartridges and also seized his i20 car.
Police said that the total worth of the five pistols was Rs 2 lakh while the 16 cartridges were worth Rs 3200 and the car is worth Rs 8 lakh.
An FIR has been registered against the accused persons with Yerwada police station for offences under the Indian Arms Act and the Mumbai Police Act.
Naik Parvez Jamadar has lodged the complaint, while assistant police inspector Laxman Dengle is further investigating the case.
