Panaji: The State Government on Tuesday initiated major administrative reshuffle wherein it appointed Nikhil Dessai as the director of Transport. Dessai will be relieved from his longest term as managing director of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) on April 30.
Dessai, this morning chaired the emergency meeting called by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on road safety. He has replaced Sunil Masurkar who is been transferred as Join Secretary (Health), replacing Anthony D’Souza who will now hold the posting as Joint Secretary (Revenue).
Dessai, who served as MD GTDC during the earlier tenure of BJP led government, will be replaced by Member Secretary of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) Levinson Martins, as additional charge from May 1.
Manohar Parrikar’s ‘pet favourite’ Sanjit Rodrigues is appointed as MD of Goa Solid Waste Management Corporation, while continuing to hold the charge as MD of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC).
To a much surprise, the Director Tourism Sanjeev Dessai, who is under scanner of Goa Lokayukat for multi-crore beach cleaning contract, has been transferred as Director Vigilance, relieving Narayan Sawant from the post. Excise Commissioner Menino D’Souza will hold the additional charge as Director Tourism till further orders.
Sawant, is now posted as Additional Secretary (Home), while transferring the current secretary Srinet Kothwale as Director of Directorate of Information and Publicity.
The sitting director of Directorate of Information and Publicity Jayant Tari is now the MD of Goa Rehabilitation Board.
Director Environment Agnelo Fernandes is been replaced by former assistant director Mines Parag Nagarcekar, who will also hold additional charge as director (Adm) Kala Academy. He will also continue to hold the charge as Commissioner, departmental inquires. Fernandes is been appointed as Additional Collector-II North replacing Surendra Naik- who is been posted as Additional Collector-III- Sub district Bardez.
Narayan Gad and Meena Goltekar, who were awaiting posting, are appointed as the MD of Goa Industrial Development Corporation and Project Director- Directorate of Rural Development Agency (South).
Director (Adm) Education department VP Dangui, will now hold the charge as Director of Industries, thus transferring IAS Maneka. The Secretary of Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) DG Sardessai will hold the additional charge as director of Public Grievances.
Director (training) GIPARD Meghana Shetgaonkar has been given additional posting as Director (Adm) education department. She will also continue to hold the charge of Under Secretary Personnel-I.
Siddhivinayak Naik, additional inspector general of Prisons will hold additional charge of the post of OSD to Minister (Housing) and Secretary Goa Human Rights Commission.
The order issued by Additional Secretary- Personnel YM Maralkar, has asked all the officers to take over the new posting within next three days.
