Panaji (Goa): Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar- who was instrumental in constituting the Entertainment Society of Goa- the nodal agency hosting the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)- is back as its chief, as the government reconstitute the body for a period of three years.
The national award winning Konkani-Marathi filmmaker Rajendra Talak has managed to retain his position as the vice-chairman of ESG. He was appointed to the position last year, after then vice chairman Damodar Naik resigned.
In an order issued by the director of department of information and publicity Srinet Kothwale, it has reconstituted the General Body of ESG with Parrikar as its chairman and Talak as vice chairman and he is also the chairman of the Governing body.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Amaya Abhayankar.
The general body consist of twelve representatives from government departments including two from department of government of India- this are- Chief Secretary, Secretary Finance and Information and Publicity, director Art and Culture and Information and Publicity, chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation and kadamba Transport Corporation.
MLA Bicholim Rajesh Patnekar and MLA Mayem Pavin Zantye and City Corporator Vaidehi Naik are also the members.
The members from the film and entertainment fraternity Sushant Khedekar, Sachin Chatte and Purnanand Chair, Sangam Gaikwad, Rajesh Pednekar, Sharmad Raiturkar, John D’Silva, Shiva Baba Naik and Xavie Marcus are also the members.
Apart from this, six persons are nominated for helping society in realizing its objectives- Manoj Patil, Meenakshi Martins, Raju Nayak, Dharmendra Vernekar, Shantaram Kundaikar and Girish Sardesai.
The composition of the governing body is of similar members, excluding few.
