Panaji (Goa) In one of the major initiative, Usgao-based Merk Pharmaceuticals today sponsored Rs 50 lakh for the purchase of 15 bike ambulances to State Health department.

Health minister Vishwajit Rane received the sanction letter today which was handed to him by Director of Merk Constancio Menezes.

Rane said that the amount would be used to purchase 15 bike ambulances. The State has already commissioned 20 bike ambulances in past in presence of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.

He said that the Merk will take care of even maintenance of these 15 bike ambulances under their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
