Panaji (Goa) In a major revealation, a senior MGP Central committee member and party General Secretary Lavu Mamledar said that they never gave letter of support to allow its legislative wing form government with BJP post-2017 assembly elections.
The disclosure has come almost a year after Manohar Parrikar led government was formed by BJP after aligning with MGP and Goa Forward Party in March last year.
Mamledar has accused party president Dipak Dhavalikar of giving letter of support for the formation of State government without even discussing the issue with the central committee.
It is mandatory for any political party to take approval from its central committee before taking such a decision.
“We were not taken into confidence. Dipak signed letter on his own. There was no resolution to support it,” he said.
The Senior MGP leader said that he is exposing this issue now as “Dipak has been acting arbitrarily since last several years and it is the time to control his behaviour for the sake of the party.”
Mamledar is a former Ponda legislator who had lost the 2017 state legislative assembly election.
Mamledar said that he has 36 different points to nail the behaviour of Dipak Dhavalikar, who aims to “finish the party.”
“His action indicates that he wants to finish the party,” the former legislator said revealing that there was also an attempt to merge MGP into BJP in the month of December last year.
While refusing to divulge which leaders were behind the idea of merging the 55-year-old regional party, Mamledar accused Dipak of “systematically trying to finish MGP by getting into the party fold the leaders with RSS, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Goa Suraksha Manch background.”
He said that these leaders are admitted in the party without consulting the Central Committee of MGP.
Mamledar said Ketan Bhatikar who was GSM leader was suddenly taken into the party ahead of Ponda Municipal Council election while Shivprasad Joshi is having RSS, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Shiv Sena background.
The former legislator has said that he would continue exposing Dipak in future on other points till he corrects his behaviour.
