MOG Sundays is an initiative to bring to the public a series of talks, films and expressions from stalwarts of various creative fields, worldwide. The event curated by Dr. Subodh Kerkar is hosted every Sunday from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at the Museum of Goa.
Join us for a talk by Prof. G. Craig Hobbs on the topic Transforming experiences of space through art, science and technology, this Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 11 amat the Museum of Goa.
The speaker will present his work in the medium of video projection mapping. Combining aspects of art, science and technology, his creative projects deploy workshop and collaborative learning models to develop community-based public artworks addressing issues of globalization and cross-cultural exchange. Professor Hobbs will be exhibiting at the Museum of Goa on November 9, 2017, and in Panjim, at the Story of Space Festival with 3rd Space Lab collective from Bangalore and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr.Hobbs produces large-scale public art, installations, and films. His past collaborators include Natalie Jeremijenko, Usman Haque, Blast Theory, Andrea Polli, Yung-Ta Chang, AntiVJ, Robin Lasser, Thomas Dolby and fabric | ch, among others. Hobbs received his BFA from California Institute of the Arts and his MFA from the Digital Arts and New Media program at University of California, Santa Cruz. He has served as a visiting professor at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris, France and as researcher and lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz and California College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco. Hobbs is currently Associate Professor of Digital Media Art (DMA) and Director of the CADRE Media Lab at San José State University in San José, California.
