MONSOON SESSION OF STATE ASSEMBLY BEGINS FROM JULY 18

Panaji(Goa): The month long monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly will commence from July 18.

Goa Governor Dr Mridula Sinha on Friday issued notification summoning the monsoon session, which would be first crucial floor test of the Manohar Parrikar led coalition government after taking over power in March.

The session will have a detail discussion and passing of the State Budget 2017-18.

The state government is likely to introduce an amendment to the Agricultural Tenancy Act thereby transfering back there tenancy cases to the mamlatdar. Also Bill to amend the Tree Pteservation Act to reclassify the coconut as tree will also be introduced in the session.

The first time Minister Vijay Sardessai, Rohan Khaunte, Vinod Palyekar, Jayesh Salgaonkar and Govind Gawade will have to go to tough questioning from the oppositions.
