Panaji (Goa): Health department is all set to launch a fleet of ten new look ambulances in the State which would be unveiled at the hands of State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar upon his arrival from the USA.
“The first fleet of 10 ambulances with the new look are ready to be launched at the hands of chief minister Manohar Parrikar once he returns from the US,” said State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
He said the new fleet will have all the life saving equipments including i-stat handheld machine which will help to have the blood testing done in the ambulance itself.
“With two drops of blood, you can have 29 different parameters checked when vehicle is on the move by getting connected to the call centre through wi-fi technology,” Rane said.
After launching of the fleet of ten ambulances, another five including one VVIP ambulance would be commissioned by end of August, the health minister said.
State health department is also working on replacing fleet of old 15 ambulances with a new one under Rural Health Mission.
Adding another feature to the ambulance services, Rane said, state will also launch fleet of 20 motorcycle ambulances in the first week of August. “The two-wheeler ambulances will curtain the response time and will reach to the patients at the earliest saving more lives,” he added.
