Panaji, Goa: The Corporation of the City of Panaji has urged people not to pay parking fees to the contractor in the city limits from May 1 as the contract of collecting parking fees which was awarded to Straight Deal Services company, will be expiring on May 30, that is on Sunday.

It is said that the pay parking contract was not able to bring any discipline to the Capital city’s chaotic traffic while it also failed to generate any revenue for the civic body.

“The public is hereby informed not to pay any parking fees to the persons or agents appointed by the Straight Deal Services till a fresh contract is executed and the same notified in the newspapers,” Panaji corporation commissioner Dipak Desai said.

The areas which are excluded from pay parking are Cafe Bhosle zone, M G Road, Panaji municipal market area, Vishal Mega Mart, 18th June Road, Old post office area, Campal heritage zone and Campal service road.
