Margao Wholesale Fish Market Association has submitted a memorandum to minister Vishwajit Rane and have demanded the appointment of Iva Fernandes as in-charge to check fish in the market and have requested for 2 months time for FDA registration formalities.

Vishwajit Rane has rejected any suggestions from fish traders’ representatives on posting Iva Fernandes and said that the enquiry on Iva should be complete and there would be no relaxation on FDA compliance decision.

“As long as they (fish traders) don’t comply with FDA guidelines, there would be no further discussion on the matter,” Rane said.
