Panaji (Goa): In an updated media bulletin on Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s third day of absence in Goa, the Chief Minister’s Office has said he will attend the Budget Session starting from Monday. The office has also rubbished speculations by a certain section of media that Parrikar will undergo survey in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai where he is currently undergoing observation.
“Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is under monitoring for his inflamed pancreas at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai and have not been advised any surgery. Chief Minister will be attending the Assembly Session which is scheduled to begin from February 19, 2018,” the bulletin stated.
In its bulletin on Friday, the CMO had stated Parrikar is well and under observation. “He is likely to be discharged in a day or two. It is a case of mild pancreatitis,” it had said.
Parrikar was rushed to Mumbai a day after he was treated for food poisoning at Goa Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday. While he had recovered by Wednesday evening, he complained of stomach pain again and was taken to Mumbai on Thursday morning. He is accompanied by his sons and personal security officers. Some of his cabinet colleagues also visited him in Mumbai and wished him speedy recovery, while others including union ministers have taken to Twitter wishing him good health. The Congress Legislative Party in Goa have also wished him speedy recovery and good health.
