Panaji (GOA) After Church magazine, released on the Panaji by-poll eve compared contemporary BJP rule to Nazi Germany, the Congress party too feels that the governance under Manohar Parrikar is nothing less than that of Nazism.
“BJP is rightfully charged by the article. BJP should feel ashamed that its activities compel the people to think in that manner. If not fully, in some proportionate, the BJP rule is not less than Nazi rule,” Congress state president Shantaram Naik told reporters.
He said that the BJP’s anti minority attitude was ample proved when BJP at the centre and State did not utter a word in protest, when nuns were raped, chapels were demolished, bibles were burnt and priests were murdered.
Meanwhile, former MP has reiterated its demand for a CBI probe into the series of desecration episode following the doubts raised by the church-backed fact finding committee.
“Since there are various versions in regards the person responsible for desecration in Goa, there is now no option left with Goa government then to refer the matter to CBI,” Naik demanded.
He said that he would soon approach Union Home Minister with a demand that the matter be handed over to CBI for investigation.
Goa police had arrested one Francis Periera in the case, who had confessed of committing the crime.
The fact-finding team comprising of the Mumbai-based Centre for Study of Society and Secularism (CSSS) and the Council for Social Justice and Peace (CSJP) had observed involvement of more than one person and had demanded a court-monitored probe and accused the state police as well as the administration of trying to cover-up the investigation.
