The Shiv Sena today filed a police complaint against Goa Mahila Congress chief Pratima Coutinho and others accusing them of disclosing the identity of a 17-year-old girl who is allegedly a victim of molestation.
In her complaint, Shiv Sena’s Goa unit vice-president Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik accused Coutinho, South District head of Mahila Congress Savitri Kavlekar, Netravali village panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Abhijit Desai and panch members Prakash Bhagat and Vitthal Gaonkar of revealing the identity of the victim.
Naik sought prosecution of Coutinho and others under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, IPC, and Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 1989, claiming that the victim girl belonged to a Scheduled Tribe.
Naik stated that Coutinho and others had visited the house of the victim last week and put up her pictures on social media along with her family members.
Coutinho had also revealed the name of the mother of the victim, Naik stated.
A similar complaint was filed yesterday against Coutinho by an NGO.
A Women Police Station officer said they are examining the complaints filed by the NGO and the Sena.
