The impact of Ockhi was very much visible on Goa since Sunday, after the coastal belt witnessed rise in sea water this causing severe damage. Even today, State witnessed light to moderate showers accompanied with gusty winds.

The weather today remained cloudy throughout the day and is expected to be same even on Wednesday.

“The impact of Ockhi was witnessed in Goa for last two days. The situation is expected to normalize by Wednesday morning but still there is possibility of rains,” IMD Goa Director ML Sahu said.

He said that the system has weakened over Goa coast as the cyclonic waves have moved 250 meters away of South-West of Maharashtra.

“It is moving towards North-East. The impact will minimize by Wednesday morning. Infact it has reduced today itself,” Sahu said.
