Panaji (Goa): Union AYUSH minister Shripad Naik admitted that there is an anxiety over beef issue in the State. But his party colleague national spoksman Sambit Patra completely avoided speaking about it.
“There is certain anxiety amongst the people. Some people have come forward with it,” Naik told reporters at the sidelines of a press conference held to announce achievements of Narendra Modi led government in Panaji.
“It is for the state government to decide on the beef issue,” he said, though reluctantly.
Patra who spoke at length on achievement of Modi-led government refused to comment on apprehensions surrounding beef ban and cow vigilantism.
“I have come here with the mandate to speak about three years’ achievement of Modi government. I will not trespass beyond my mandate,” Patra said even as the journalists repeatedly asked him about his reaction on the issue.
