Panaji (Goa): The State government on Wednesday appointed Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo as Chairman of the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA).
The two time Calangute MLA is re-appointed to the position. Lobo would be taking charge of NGPDA on Friday.
The Chief Town Planner Dr ST Puttaraju in a notification issued has constituted the NGPDA under Chairmanship of Lobo, with Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza as its member along with nine others.
Taleigao MLA Jeniffer Monserratte, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo and former Panaji MLA Siddharat Kuncolienkar are also members of the Authority.
The Authority will look into the planning and development of Panaji, Mapusa and Calangute-Candolim planning area.
The other members of the new Authority are Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council, former Mayor and sitting CCP councilor Shubham Chodankar, CCP councilor Menino D’Cruz, former councilor Deepak Mhapsekar and one Dattaprasad Dabholkar.
