The police have arrested a 38-year-old man from Delhi for allegedly murdering one rag-picker for Rs 50 which the victim had borrowed from the accused in Margao.

The accused, Omprakash Ganapati Chand, hails from Delhi and was currently staying in Margao. Omprakash smashed a stone on the head of the victim Shivappa (35), a native of Gokak, on Tuesday.

The police arrested the accused on Wednesday afternoon after they verified a CCTV camera footage which was near the crime scene.
