Panaji Police have arrested one Eloy Joaquim Gomes (43), a resident of Nagoa, Verna, for possessing firearms. Gomes was arrested this morning at Kadamba Transport Corporation’s bus stand in Panaji.

According to sources, Gomes was moving suspiciously at the bus stand which prompted some people to inform the police. Police sub-inspector Vivek Harlarnkar arrested the accused with a revolver and eleven live rounds. He has been booked under Arms act and further investigation is on.
