PANCHAYAT OPERATIONS TO BE HELD UNDER CCTV CAMERAS: GIRISH PILLAI

VASCO: While assuring corruption free Panchayat administration, the new Sarpanch of Sancoale village Panchayat, Girish Pillai has assured that henceforth the Panchayat operations will be held under CCTV cameras.

Speaking to reporters after getting elected as unopposed Sarpanch of Sancoale village Panchayat on Saturday, Pillai also appealed to Sancoale villagers to give important suggestions to the young Panchayat body and promised the villagers to work together for the progress of our village.

Listing out the priorities, he said that  with the support of Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the promise of slum rehabilitation, maintaining cleanliness in Zuarinagar and to make it open defecation free by January 26 2018 will be fulfilled.

He said that in next 90 days, the new body will come out with a village master plan so that a holistic roadmap considering the needs of the village for next 20 years could be identified. He said that the Panchayat body would peruse to fulfill the long pending demand for full fledged police station at Zuarinagar and for the new Panchayat Ghar on priority.

Newly elected Deputy Sarpanch, Advocate Nandini Desai said that the new Panchayat body would work for the benefit of villagers and she would use her legal field experience to ensure that Panchayat should function in complete legal manner with no scope for illegality.
