Panaji (Goa): Ahead of BJP National President Amit Shah’s visit to Goa, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar held a review meeting with the party leaders on the preparedness even as security meeting with the police top bosses is scheduled shortly.
Shah will arrive on July 1 on a two day visit, which is a part of the national tour in view of Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
On day-one, party sources said, Shah will hold an extensive meet with the BJP MLAs, elected members of the village panchayats and the office bearers of the party. However, the detailed plan will be disclosed at a press conference tomorrow. On June 2, the source added, Shah will inaugurate party office in South Goa before leaving for another destination.
Shah had played a major role to ensure BJP stakes claims in the State in the recently held elections that saw a fractured mandate. Union minister Nitin Gadkari was sent to Goa to strike talks with the regional parties amd Independents to form a coalition government.
This will be his second visit to Goa after thr formation of government. He was earlier felicitated by the State party unit for forming government in four or five states that went to polls this year.
