Goa Forward Party chief and Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said that the ailing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar wanted to resign, but the BJP high command dismissed it.

“He (Parrikar) wanted to give up the CM’s post and wanted to allot portfolios to other ministers when he was admitted to hospital during Ganesh Chaturthi festival,” Sardesai said.

Sardesai said that it was the BJP high command that stepped in and did not allow Parrikar to resign.

” BJP high command stepped in and said that- to resign or not is not in Parrikar’s hands entirely,” Sardesai told reporters.
