POLICE RECOVER FIVE VEHICLES FROM THREE JUVENILE

Panaji (Goa): The Panaji police have arrested three boys on charges of stealing two wheelers and four wheelers, parked across different parking lots in the State. 

 
The trio, whose identity cannot be disclosed as they are juveniles, have been sent to Apna Ghar correctional home. 
 
The four bikes Honda Dio, Hero Honda  Pleasure, Yamaha FZ and Kinetic Nova while Tata Nano car have been recovered from them during the wee hour raid. 
 
“The boys were caught for the crime after which we recovered the vehicles from their possession and sent them to Apna Ghar. We will probe if they have benefits involved in more such thefts like, ” Panaji police inspector Siddhant Shirodkar said.  
 
The Goa police have witnessed several cased of vehicle theft involving minor children. While they cannot be arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act, such children can only be sent to the Correctional Home. 
 
Apna Ghar that also houses children in need of care and protection has often been criticised over escapes of inmates, brawls within the institution, etc. Women & Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane has assured to set things right in the Home.
