Goa Power Minister Nilesh Cabral today said that his department (power)has become ‘defunct’, which is why he was unable to bring out a white paper on its functioning.

The minister was talking to reporters in Margao and said that steps will be taken to revive the department.

“I had said that I would be giving a white paper. But I can’t give it as the department is defunct,” the BJP MLA said. “I have to see what we can do to revive the department,” Cabral said.

The minister also said that there was a delay on the part of the State Finance Department to clear the proposals of his department.
