PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO GOA POSTPONED

Panaji (Goa): President Ram Nath Kovind, who was supposed to preside the Goa University’s (GU) annual convocation this Saturday has postponed his visit.

The government has issued a press statement informing about the development, “Due to important engagements the visit of the President of India to Goa from February 24 to 26, 2018 stands postponed,” it states.

Kovind recently accepted the invitation extended by Goa University chancellor and Goa Governor Mridula Sinha to preside over the 30th annual convocation ceremony, which is expected to be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium on February 24. Kovind’s visit to Goa would be the first time since assuming office as President of India. The varsity’s 2017 convocation too was attended by then President Pranab Mukherjee.

It is now here to see who will GU invite for the convocation with just two days left for the event.
